Update of the City of Piedmont's 2014 Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan, with an additional focus on general traffic safety.
About the Project
Piedmont’s original Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan (PBMP) was adopted in November 2014. The PBMP identified a set of projects and other recommendations to make walking and biking in Piedmont safer, easier and more popular.
The new plan—Piedmont Safer Streets—will evaluate the old recommendations and develop new ones to address emerging community needs, concerns and expectations. Importantly, the new plan will also examine the community’s broader traffic safety concerns, not just those directly related to walking and biking.
November 2021 update
The final draft Piedmont Safer Streets Plan is now available, as is the initial study/negative declaration prepared for the plan to meet requirements under the California Environmental Quality Act (or CEQA). The final draft plan is the version that will be presented to the City Council, likely in December 2021, for official approval and adoption.
